Question: What's up with Option Central Memberships?

Answer: For a number of years, we've been experimenting with our membership plans to align the cost of a membership with the value that it provides. We know we've got some great material here, and continue to resist the temptation to emphasize quantity over quality - a "core value" of this site that goes all the way back to its founder, Mike Schuster. 

We recently decided to suspend new memberships and reduce the pricing on renewals as we explore our options.  Stay tuned - as our Membership and News pages will always have the most up-to-date membership information about Memberships.

Question: My membership has expired, but I really intended to renew it. What can be done?

Answer: Contact Us and we will work with you to get your membership renewed.

Depending on when and how the Membership expired, we will either be able to reactivate the previous membership or set up a "renewal membership" using the pricing structure that we introduced in the Summer of 2025.

Question: Will you still be adding content to Option Central?

Answer: Yes.  Our Contributors and News pages are the best place to check for the latest information on those subjects.

Question: I purchased a 3 Year Membership. How is that affected by these changes?

Answer: The 3 Year (and the 1 day) memberships were only offered for a short time before they were discontinued. This change occurred when we decided to offer only 1 year plans for $59.95.

We think we did the right thing for our Members by grandfathering all plans and pricing, and then taking all previous plans into account when we finalized our new renewal pricing.

Question: Do you have a trial membership or plan to offer one?  What about a discount for new members?

Answer: No, we don't have a trial membership or plan to offer one.  Since much of our content is licensed, than a trial membership.

As for a discount for new members, we are more likely to bring back a short term membership . Stay tuned on that.
