Jim Reese has been a sportswriter for over ten years. Many of Jim's articles can be found under the Inside the Hash Marks category and Sports Stories-Old School at In addition, Jim's books How to Win at Flag Football, and Sports Stories - Old School are available, the latter in in eBook and paperback format.

Jim, a former quarterback at the University of Minnesota and a past high school and college coach, has a large following for his writings, which range from short stories and articles about the times and people he has met in a fifty-five year journey through sporting fields, locker rooms and lives, including his relationship with Vince Lombardi. In Talking Option Football, Jim interviews two of Option Central's Guest Contributors - Mike DiMatteo and Tony DeMeo.

Volume 2: Jim Reese interviews Coach Tony DeMeo, widely respected Option Guru and innovator of The Triple Gun, a system that Coach DeMeo created and later refined while leading the last of a series of turnarounds at the University of Charleston, WV. In this Talking Option Football column, Coach DeMeo responds to a number of questions that deal with overally strategy, talks about the value and use of various types of Offensive Stats, and reveals part of his formula for turning around football programs.

In his 25 years of experience as a head college football coach, Tony DeMeo built a reputation for turning around college programs, and had an overall record of 137-108-4. Coach DeMeo completed his career at the University of Charleston with a six year tenure in which the Golden Eagles produced more victories (43) than during any other six year period in school history.
